What we collect
When you browse, we may collect device and usage data (pages viewed, approximate location from IP, cookie identifiers). When you check out or contact us, we collect name, email, phone, shipping address, PIN code, and order notes. Payment instrument details are entered on the payment aggregator’s checkout and are not stored on our servers as card PAN or CVV.
If you join the newsletter, we store your email until you unsubscribe.
Why we use it
We use this information to fulfil orders, provide support, prevent fraud, meet tax and accounting duties, and — with consent — send product notes. Legal bases include performance of a contract, legitimate interests in running a store, and consent where required under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Sharing
We share data with: (1) Cashfree Payments and its banking partners, to collect payment and run KYC/fraud checks; (2) our logistics partner (currently Shadowfax) to pick up, deliver, and return shipments; (3) hosting, email, and analytics providers who process data on our instructions; (4) government authorities when the law requires it.
We do not sell personal data. We do not share cardholder data with any party other than the payment aggregator / acquiring bank or as required by a competent authority.
Storage and security
Data is stored on our application host and database in encrypted transit (HTTPS). Access is limited to people who need it to run the store. We keep order records for the period required by tax and company law, then delete or anonymise them where feasible.
Your rights
You may request access, correction, erasure, or a copy of your personal data, and you may withdraw consent for marketing, by writing to hello@pilatease.com or our grievance officer Grievance Officer — placeholder at hello@pilatease.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India when that mechanism applies.
